Out ‘n’ About Nipper v’s B.O.B Revolution CE v’s Mountain Buggy Urban Jungle v’s Baby Jogger City Elite with Children
This set of side by side comparisons shows four 3 wheeled all terrain pushchairs with our 4 year 6 month old (107cms tall, 91st centile) girl and our 2 year 9 month old (87.5cms, 9th centile) boy in the seats of the pushchairs. Our 4 and a half year old has HUGE size 12 feet which is worth considering!
On the far left is the Out ‘n’ About Nipper V2. The pushchair next to the Nipper is the B.O.B Revolution CE in Plum. The pushchair with the blue interior is the Mountain Buggy Urban Jungle Runway Special Edition. Finally on the right, with the Stone coloured hood, is the Baby Jogger City Elite. They are lined up with the lightest pushchair on the left ie the Nipper. The Elite on the right is the heaviest pushchair.
We often get asked what are good pushchairs for an older child, for an older child with special needs (who doesn’t need a specialist pushchair). Therefore our 4 and a half year old has been used to purely give an indicator of seat size. We also took her out on some test pushes and all of these pushchairs were good to push her in. She could also give us feedback that all these seats were comfy for her. We have also added a few photos to show what the children naturally did with their legs i.e. dangling or crossing them, which to us is a sign of where they are comfortable.
Whilst these photos do really speak for themselves, its worth noting that all of these pushchairs do seat our 4 and a half year old well – even the Nipper which appears small was actually our daughters favourite to sit in – so she was happy and comfortable. Plus, she is well over the limits for a typical child to ride in a pushchair at the age of 4 and a half. Therefore for a typical child, all of these pushchairs would serve them until the end of their pushchair riding days.
Just to add, if you are reading this to find a good off road pushchair, please may I also direct you to our photos of the TFK Joggster Twist which probably has the biggest seat on an all terrain pushchair. Plus also have a look at the Bumbleride Indie which is a really good, smart off road pushchair.
Also bear in mind that some of these pushchairs have ‘siblings’ with bigger wheels for serious off roading e.g. The Mountain Buggy Terrain, B.O.B. Revolution SE and Baby Jogger Summit X3.
We suggest you use these photos together with our “Compare Pushchairs” tool at the top of the page, to bring up the seat sizes.
There is also a set of photos of these four pushchairs side by side without the children in the seats here on Best Buggy.
